First Video of the Spectrum Analyser in Action!

  1. This is terrific (now that I've figured out how to get the mixer going for my sound card).

What I'd really like to see is the same thing but with (presumably) tri-colour LEDs where the colour varies according to the frequency of the music. Kind of an up-to-date version of the old "chromasonic" or "colour organ" I used to build 50 years ago.

Don't know if it's possible though.

  2. Thanks, Glad you like it. We are working on other patterns for the spectrum analyser but its temporarily on hold due to all the 8x8x8 development.

As for the tri-colour LED version... I will have to take a second look at it. But last time I checked the LED's were pretty expensive making the overall unit higher than what most people are willing to spend.

  3. Nice to know you're open to it though.

I played with this some more. It really works with a lot of classical music ... probably because of the large dynamic range I expect.

You should try "Sorcerer's Apprentice" from Fantasia (or wherever actually).
