8x8x8 Update

Hey all, I know there are a lot of people waiting for the 3D LED Matrix - C-512 Model 103, our team is putting in some heavy hours to get these units out. We have real-time mode working with the Spectrum Analyser, as well as the editing software is operational. Only thing holding things up is the uSD cards. They are not cooperating at the moment. We made some major progress today and figured out the issues. Tomorrow we hope to have that working.. .so we can get start getting these units out.

When everything is ready, I promise you it will be worth the wait.

3x3x3 Embedded Software available!

New Software Update v1.1.0

New software is available...  v1.1.0
- Added support for the 3x3x3 C-027 Model 102 Cubes!!!!
- 3x3x3 Cubes have all the functions of the C125 including the audio function.
- Tweaked the audio patterns a little bit. Added some new ones...
- Added Auto-Amplify for the Audio mode, so the cube will automatically keep constant levels no matter what audio level. It is selected by default, but has the option to be turned off.
- All custom audio settings are saved on exit and loaded on startup

Finally got the shift registers functioning properly. Working on the microSD card function next. Once that is working... they will go up for sale;)

More Spectrum Analyser patterns.

We updated the 5x5x5 Software to include some new Spectrum Analyser patterns. You can select them from the audio menu. Select the pattern first than click the audio button. We will make it so you can change it on the fly in the next build.

We also added white to the colour selection.

The first 8x8x8 unit has been assembled, I'll get some pictures or video up this week. It looks great, has to be the cleanest looking cube on the net! Messing around with the embedded software currently.

How to link Audio Output to Input Spectrum Analyser

Here are some instructions on how to virtually link what's coming out your speakers to your default input so the Spectrum Analyser function on the 3D LED Matrix will work directly off your sound card output. No need for any external microphones.

5x5x5 Spectrum Analyser Beta Released!

We have released a Beta of the Spectrum Analyser PC software (v 1.0.6) for the 5x5x5 LED Matrix C-125 Model 101, To try it out, select the comm port of your Cube and click the "Audio" button at the bottom middle. The software will use your default audio input to perform the analysis. There are also timing and sensitivity settings in the menu.

We are currently working on more spectrum bounce patterns / options, but let us know of any bugs and we will work to fix 'em up!

5x5x5 Spectrum Analyser its coming...

There have been many requests for this function... its very close to being released, we have a beta version and are just cleaning up the code to make it user friendly. It will be worth the wait!

5x5x5 Spectrum Analyser Software Update

We have a beta version of the Spectrum Analyser (Cube move to music function) working, hope to release to the public this week (As well as a video to follow..). No embedded software change required so ALL Cube's previously sold, will work with this new PC software!

8x8x8 Update

PCB's came in this weekend and got one populated. Writing the embedded software now as well as building up the first proto unit.

Bootloader!

I'm proud to say all our 3D LED Matrices and KIT's come with a bootloader! So when new features come out we can deploy the firmware updates without the need of a in-circuit programmer. This is also useful to the customer who wants to write his/her own firmware to learn some C-programming. Now your "home-brew" firmware can be uploaded without an issue.

The basic instructions for the 3x3x3 kit are now available at the top of this blog! Software is still being tweeked but the kit is now available for the customers who want to write the code for there own cubes.

8x8x8 Update

The 8x8x8 PCB's are on order and should be here Nov 4th... In the mean-time we will be getting a head start on the embedded software. The clear cases came in the other day and really gave some perspective on how impressive this Cube will be. Looking forward to this design!

Kits coming! 3x3x3 and 5x5x5

Kits are almost ready to be released for the 3x3x3 and 5x5x5! Just finishing documenting everything. The kits Atmega8 microcontroller will come pre-programmed with our embedded software so functionality with our PC software will work. This also allows instant functionality after the kits are assembled. The kits also have a programming (ISP) interface header to the Atmega8. This is for the more advanced user who owns an Atmel ISP programmer (MKII, STK500, Dragon etc...) to be able to develop there own embedded software for their own specific application.

Spectrum Analyser Update

Currently the Spectrum Analyser (Cube "move to music function") is being developed for all models...the 5x5x5 and 3x3x3 will require a PC for this to work. The 8x8x8 will be able to perform this function without a PC(if all goes well) but will also have the option to be run through the PC.

3x3x3 Update!

The 3x3x3 PCB's and Clear Cases came in today! Already got one fully operational, they look great. Should be on the market very soon as a kit as well as fully assembled units. Available colours will be BLUE, GREEN, RED and WHITE.

3x3x3 PCB's are on order, if everything goes well, kits and fully assembled units will be on sale in 3 weeks.

As for the 8x8x8's... PCB's are in development should be done this weekend, most parts are on order and the Cases are arriving next Friday. Here are some of the features planned....
